Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing large-scale construction projects, including reviewing and assigning incoming department requests, cost estimate and schedule reviews, contractor workforce management, and coordination with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans, designs, and oversees the construction of new or expanded facilities.
  • Prepares architectural and engineering cost estimates and schedules.
  • Obtains and supervises outside contractors.
  • Recommends architectural and engineering design procedures and standards for the planning and design of facilities.
  • Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
  • Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
  • Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
  • Supervises the detailed design, budgetary costing, standardized construction, and final inspection of facility projects.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, including timelines, budgets, and any deviation from the original plan.
  • Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) with 5 years of experience in the following fields: Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Management, Construction Engineering OR Masters degree in STEM field with 3 of experience in mentioned fields OR PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience
  • Experience in managing large-scale construction projects
  • Experience with computer operations and applications pertinent to the job function (i.e. Revit, MS Visio, MS Project, and or other construction design software)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera)
  • Experience in presenting to leadership, executive and or management
  • Experience with construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
  • Ability to obtain Secret level clearance
  • Facilities experience in the Defense sector along with understanding of security standard ICD 705
  • Experience in aerospace industry Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and LEED Certification

Salary Range:

$84,200 - $126,400

Salary Range 2:

$104,400 - $156,600
