Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Goodfellow. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, calibration, and repair of all electrical systems up to and including 24v, 120v, and 480v.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and installations as directed by the supervisor.
  • Provide accurate and complete records as required for specific tasks.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance on all electrical systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot VFD, MOTOR SOFT STARTER, PLCs, Motor Control Centers.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical circuits, including wires, contactors, breakers, breaker boxes, and motor control components.
  • Make necessary electrical installations and/or repairs, including services for plant, crusher plant, conveyors, MCCs, control systems, and system process equipment components.
  • Ensure that all new installations and repairs meet MSHA and OSHA requirements.
  • Perform ground testing on new installations and complete yearly ground testing.
  • Responsible for providing all hand tools required for the performance of the position.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and technical operational manuals.
  • Follow work procedures safely and as defined for specific tasks.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all work complies with NEC and any state regulations.
  • Perform various duties as directed by the supervisor.

Safety and Environmental:

Responsible and accountable for the performance and compliance of mine, plant site safety and environmental policies and procedures for all personnel and vendors.

Provide safety and environmental leadership by always setting a good example.

Key Relationships:

Ability to build trust and develop positive working relationships with site personnel.

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • 4 years of experience as an electrician.

Additional Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks, and vehicles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.

Able to wear and demonstrate to employees the use of personal protective equipment, including hardhat, steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, earplugs, gloves (rubber, leather, and cloth), and/or any other equipment required to do the job assigned safely.

Able to lift 50 pounds periodically and 100 pounds occasionally.

Able to read and interpret various safety warning signs and product MSDS, tags, and labels.

Ability to distinguish various colors as they relate to safety warning signs, tags, and labels.
