About the RoleThe Patient Access Specialist Sr. is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective provision of patient access services for ancillary, diagnostic, surgical, and emergency services. This includes verifying patient demographic information, processing point-of-service payments, and obtaining signatures for required consent paperwork.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the appropriateness of complex registration activity, including scheduling, verifying patient demographic information, and processing point-of-service payments.
- Verify patient coverage eligibility and benefits, and ensure that patients understand their financial liability.
- Act as a liaison between INTEGRIS Health and patients, providers, and payers to resolve complex patient access and account issues.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on multiple processes, payers, and systems.
- Initiate and coordinate continuous quality improvement efforts, and establish goals with supervisors.
- 4 years of experience in patient access operations, including scheduling, registration, insurance, billing, collections, and customer service.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office programs and admission/discharge/transfer or billing/claims management software.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or healthcare certification (AAHAM CRCS, HFMA CRCR, NAHAM CHAA) preferred.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to use independent judgment and clinical knowledge to adjust service area schedules and accommodate special requests.
