Job Summary

Open Doors Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Literacy & Math Tutor. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success of our scholars by providing individualized instruction and support in literacy and math.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction in literacy and math to scholars
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of scholars
  • Assess scholar progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with scholars, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current on best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or related field
  • Previous experience working with youth, preferably in a teaching or tutoring capacity
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
