The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical abilities and exceptional negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing within budget constraints. Familiarity with sales and marketing strategies is a plus.
- Conduct research to identify and select quality products and materials.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating for optimal pricing.
- Process purchase requisitions and keep management informed about order progress.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels are adequate.
- Coordinate the transportation of goods and monitor orders for timely delivery.
- Analyze market trends to inform strategic buying decisions.
- Work closely with inventory management, leadership, and stockroom personnel as needed.
- Evaluate the quality of received stock and report any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Relevant experience is preferred.
- Proficient in computer applications (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with relevant software tools.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
- Proficient in popular merchandise planning software.
- Strong understanding of retail mathematics and analytical skills.
- Effective communicator with exceptional written and verbal skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Builds robust relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
- Quick learner of new skills.
