Job Summary:
Sysco is seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on our vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and company-owned equipment, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, refrigeration units, lift-gates, light-duty vehicles, and company-owned equipment.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, to manufacturer specifications.
- Mentor and train junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Fleet Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree or 4 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair preferred.
- Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).
- ASE certifications and/or equivalent experience in automotive or medium/heavy-duty trucks.
- EPA section 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC & Refrigeration Certification.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions.
- Occasional travel to other Sysco locations or corporate office for training, business continuation, or other business needs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and lift up to 100 pounds.
