Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning and repairs on at least one category of instruments, including brass, woodwind, orchestral, or percussion.
  • Provide accurate repair estimates for customer instruments.
  • Adhere to timelines to guarantee completion within the projected cost and duration.
  • Handle both customer-owned and retail instruments, catering to a spectrum from student to professional levels.
  • Deliver high-quality work that exceeds the shop's standard hourly rate.
  • Assist with additional tasks, such as participating in repair clinics or school events.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or a diploma from an accredited instrument repair program.
  • A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with musical instruments is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Capable of standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull instruments and cases weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Exposure to mild cleaning chemicals.
