Job Summary:
Dart Container is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic I to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance
- Repair and replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools
- Operate PIT, hoist, crane, and aerial lift to move equipment and materials
- Communicate with operators to detect equipment problems and identify root causes
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical, or electronic components, machinery, or equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to detect and prevent problems
- Provide efficient and timely service of machinery and equipment to meet production schedules
- Complete assignments under direct supervision from other technicians
- Promote good employee relations and high morale
- Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with coworkers to achieve the best results possible
- Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications
- Experience operating various hand and power tools
- Basic understanding of the use of precision measuring tools
- Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction of fractions
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to operate PIT, hoists, and cranes
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year experience repairing machinery in a warehouse environment
