Job Overview

The successful candidate will be tasked with operating various grinding machinery, such as Blanchard grinders and double disc grinders, as well as other equipment like ultrasonic cleaning units and sandblasting tools to process metal materials, primarily focusing on molybdenum, tungsten, copper, and steel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interprets work orders and blueprints to plan machining operations, including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Loads materials into the feed mechanism by positioning stock appropriately.
  • Operates cranes for the loading and unloading of materials.
  • Removes finished work pieces from machines or work surfaces using hand tools and places them in designated containers.
  • Inspects completed work pieces for quality assurance, comparing them against templates and measuring their dimensions.
  • Completes necessary inspection documentation as required.
  • Cleans surfaces using appropriate solvents.
  • Changes grinding wheels as needed to ensure product quality.
  • Performs minor maintenance on grinding machines and related equipment.
  • Assists maintenance personnel with significant repairs or breakdowns as necessary.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and maintains high-quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Ensures consistent product quality by following established production methods and understanding the impact of process variables.
  • Suggests enhancements to safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Keeps the work area clean, safe, and organized.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2-4 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including understanding decimals and percentages, are essential for job functions.
  • Familiarity with basic measuring tools (micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators) and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Capability to operate forklifts, suction lifts, mechanical lifts, and air tools for material processing.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • This position is limited to U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents due to business needs and trade compliance requirements.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The role requires standing for extended periods and the ability to lift and/or move over 50 pounds. The candidate must be able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Work is conducted in a factory setting where temperature variations may occur.
