Position Overview

As a Fleet Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of our fleet vehicles, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

  • Expertise in diagnosing and resolving vehicle malfunctions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log for fleet vehicle maintenance to monitor preventive care and repairs.
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop a solid understanding of Watco's safety protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Work autonomously or as part of a cohesive team.
  • Apply logical reasoning to execute tasks based on written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.
  • Operate various equipment including truck cranes, forklifts, welding apparatus, and cutting tools as necessary.
  • Successfully complete training and pass all required assessments.
  • Willingness to learn from guidance, observations, and experiences.
  • Availability for overtime and adaptability to various weather conditions.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety regulations, maintenance instructions, blueprints, and schematics. Capable of writing routine reports and effectively communicating with groups.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Equipment and Safety Gear
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): hard hat, safety glasses, splash goggles, face shield, reflective clothing, gloves, and steel-toed metatarsal boots, along with any other required PPE.
  • Utilize mechanical hand tools pertinent to job functions, including impact wrenches and hose machines. Set up and operate grinders and other metalworking tools, employing measuring instruments such as rules, calipers, and micrometers.
Qualifications
  • All team members in the facility must possess a valid Driver's License.
