Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Counselor II to join our team at Lea County. The successful candidate will provide therapeutic interventions, develop individualized program structures, and conduct group counseling sessions as appropriate to licensure level.

Responsibilities:
• Gather client information through screenings, assessments, and case histories; evaluate findings to determine treatment needs
• Formulate program structures that address client mental health and wellness treatment needs
• Provide crisis intervention and refer clients to other services as needed
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions according to guidelines
• Facilitate educational-based group sessions and provide clinically-based training to professionals
• Maintain accurate case files and prepare progress reports
• Attend staff meetings and maintain professional growth through CEU trainings

Requirements:
• Current New Mexico licensure as a Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or equivalent
• Three years of experience in alcohol/substance abuse treatment or mental health counseling
• Knowledge of substance abuse theory and treatment, behavioral health theory, and community-based service programs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality

Compensation:
$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
