About the Job

The Facilities Maintenance Worker CL2 is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our community.

Responsibilities
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, strippers, buffers, mops, and brooms, to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and materials to ensure a hygienic and safe environment.
  • Empty waste containers, clean vents, windows, doors, restrooms, furniture, walls, and floors to maintain a clean and organized space.
  • Unlock and secure buildings to ensure access and security.
  • Clean and clear walkways to prevent accidents and ensure accessibility.
  • Perform all cleaning tasks in and around buildings, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.
  • May be responsible for making beds, handling and issuing linens, and providing work guidance to less experienced employees.

Requirements
  • Typically has the education associated with a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) AND sufficient experience, including one year of custodial or grounds-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to work independently.
  • Experience cleaning classroom and office buildings is preferred.
  • Experience using commercial cleaning equipment is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs regularly and perform other manual and physically demanding tasks as required.
