Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Labcorp. This role will support specimen testing under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

About the Role

  • This position will focus on endocrinology and GI testing within the Rheumatology department.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a B.A./B.S. in a life science field, exhibit strong attention to detail, and be able to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Specialist for a job in Calabasas Hills, California.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in specimen testing under direct and constant supervision according to established procedures.
  • Work under the oversight of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in our Rheumatology department.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, document PM appropriately, and immediately contact appropriate personnel for problems requiring complex instrument repairs.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Document all activities as necessary, including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a relatable life science field.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
