Job Title: CT Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in Burlington, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented CT Technologist to perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and radiation safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures, including imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic, and extremity scans.
  • Obtain medical history from patients and compare requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Position patients and select proper scanning factors, adjust factors to attain the appropriate images, and provide radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist, and assist in the proper scanning techniques.
  • Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images, including patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and perform equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures. Report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff and evaluate new products and equipment.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements:
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
Working Conditions:

The CT Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids. Personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
