Job Opportunity: Painter/Handyman

Blumenfeld Development Group, Ltd. is seeking a skilled Painter/Handyman to join our team in New York City. As a key member of our Property Management team, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and functionality of our commercial properties.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture using various techniques and equipment.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by applying primers or sealers, and remove old finishes using stripping, sanding, or other methods.
  • Clean and store paint and painting tools and equipment in designated areas.
  • Coordinate with management to modify paint colors, stains, or varnishes as needed.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following company safety and security policies, reporting maintenance issues, and completing safety training.
  • Perform physical tasks such as reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pulling, and stepping, as well as moving ladders and standing for extended periods.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, with technical school certifications and/or training a plus.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of painting/handyman experience, with ability to read and interpret documents, plans, and schematic drawings.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, diagnose problems with equipment, and apply common sense to carry out instructions.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
