Job Summary

The Senior Clinical Nurse is a key member of the Neurosciences and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) team at Albany Medical Center. This role requires a strong clinical background and leadership skills to manage patient care needs and collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, coordinate, and manage patient care needs throughout the episode of care
  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, and evaluate diagnostic tests
  • Provide primary and emergency care for patients, with a focus on progressing toward discharge and transitions within the acute care stay
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients and ensure the delivery of competent and compassionate patient care
Requirements
  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program
  • Active NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • 1-3 years of clinical RN experience
  • 1 year of Telemetry or ICU experience
