Job Summary:

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Charge Nurse to join our team at UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring staff during assigned shifts, determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability and patient acuity, and providing direct patient care as needed. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and take on a leadership role in patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor staff during assigned shifts, ensuring they have the necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
  • Determine staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, patient acuity, and census.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed, including floating between staff to assist with problem-solving.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
  • Ensure that staff have the necessary training and resources to provide high-quality patient care.

Requirements:
  • A valid RN license in the state of Colorado.
  • 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a critical care setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • PALS certification.
