Position Summary:
The K Club Mixologists are tasked with delivering outstanding service to all patrons, ensuring that every interaction aligns with the Tribute Collection Standards.
Important Note: The Karol Hotel maintains a drug-free environment. All candidates selected for a position will undergo pre-employment screening, including background checks and drug testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance guests' bar experience through personalized recommendations.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of beverages, including spirits and wines.
- Serve patrons efficiently and courteously, adhering to established service protocols.
- Demonstrate expertise in cocktail preparation, trained according to Marriott standards.
- Be equipped with essential tools for the shift, such as pens, corkscrews, and bar utensils.
- Expertly pair wines with various dishes.
- Understand that the bar serves a full menu and be prepared to assist with complete meals or shared dining experiences.
- Assist with light food service when necessary, including carrying warm or hot plates.
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items, including preparation times, ingredients, allergens, and accompaniments.
- Process payments for food and beverages served.
- Adhere to TIPS guidelines to ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with Marriott and hotel policies.
- Stay informed about daily specials, soups, drinks, and low-stock items.
- Manage station effectively and communicate with management regarding any issues that may impact guest satisfaction.
- Follow cash handling protocols and provide explanations for any discrepancies.
- Keep the bar area clean and organized.
- Wash glasses, utensils, and bar equipment following Marriott safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management to enhance guest service.
Performance Expectations
- Contribute to the overall success of the hotel by ensuring guests have an exceptional experience, aiming for high scores on the Guest Satisfaction Survey (GSS) as per Marriott standards.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in hospitality is essential.
- A minimum of two years of bartending experience in a high-volume establishment within the greater Tampa Bay area.
- Strong customer service abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using technology, such as tablets and iPads.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 20 pounds or more.
- Capability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Clear communication skills.
- Corrected vision within normal range.
- Willingness to work long hours as necessary.
Mental Requirements
- Ability to make quick, sound judgments.
