Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist is tasked with verifying that all incoming materials and products conform to the company’s quality benchmarks prior to their acceptance into inventory. This position involves inspecting, testing, and validating the quality of incoming goods while maintaining comprehensive records. The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate independently.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Testing:

  • Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials and products to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Conduct various tests and measurements utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Identify and document any defects or deviations from specifications.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain precise and comprehensive records of inspection outcomes, including test data and any non-conformance reports.
  • Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports to the Quality Manager.
  • Monitor and report on trends related to inbound material quality.

Quality Enhancement:

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Offer recommendations for refining inspection techniques and tools.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all inspection activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines during all inspection and testing processes.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance capacity, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Competence in using computer software, including Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Robust problem-solving skills and the capacity to make informed decisions based on inspection findings.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, as necessary.
  • Capability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during inspections.
  • Work is conducted in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with exposure to machinery and equipment.
