UCLA Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population within our Medicine practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with faculty physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications, take vital signs, and obtain drug refills as needed, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Recognize and report abnormal laboratory values to physicians, utilizing your knowledge of symptomatology and medical conditions.
  • Maintain a cooperative working environment, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Perform CPR and other life-saving interventions as needed, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Utilize keyboard literacy skills to access and input data in computerized logging systems, ensuring accurate and efficient data management.
  • Develop and maintain IV skills, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards, submitting high-quality work in a timely manner.
  • Perform physical demands of the job, including pushing, pulling, or carrying a minimum of 30 pounds or more, as required.

Requirements

  • Active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification.
  • Possession of CPR certification/BCLS.
  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications, and obtain drug refills as needed.
  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and/or life-threatening medical problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers.
  • Ability to perform CPR.
  • Keyboard literacy skills to access and input data in computerized logging systems.
  • Competency in IV skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be punctual and maintain good attendance.
  • Ability to push, pull, or carry a minimum of 30 pounds or more.
  • Ability to submit quality work in a timely manner.
