Nurse Caregiver

At English Meadows Senior Living, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our residents. As a compassionate and caring Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in our care team, assisting in developing, coordinating, and performing tasks on a service plan according to each resident's preferences and abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients and perform routine checks
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, environmental orientation, vital signs, first aid, and wound care
• Communicate with outside health professionals
• Practice good infection control and universal precautions
• Use the EMAR system
• Order, store, and assist with medication according to current physician orders and community policies
• Perform medication passes as needed/required
• Assist with resident care, meals, move-outs, and move-ins as needed
• Observe and communicate any changes in a resident's physical or mental condition
• Complete incident reports as needed
• Responsible for cleanliness and organization of the nurse station
• Assist with training of new members
• Supervise and monitor Resident Assistants
• Maintain service plans
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and team members
• Answer and respond to call lights and alarms
• Know and follow emergency procedures
• Perform duties assigned by the Resident Care Coordinator or Administrator
• Must attend/complete training assigned to meet DSS regulations
• Keep resident information confidential, respecting resident rights and privacy

Requirements:

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Must meet requirements imposed by licensing authorities
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Must pass a background check
• Must have a reliable mode of transportation
• Documented TB screening
• Must have or complete CPR/first aid training within the first 60 days of employment
• Must maintain an acceptable attendance record
• Self-starter and requires minimal supervision
• Essential functions include but are not limited to standing, walking, lifting, bending, etc.
• Reliable, calm, and willing to serve others
