Behavioral Interventionist

Position Overview:
Under the guidance of an ABA supervisor, the individual will support clients in various educational environments, including home, community, and school settings. The role involves implementing comprehensive behavior intervention strategies tailored for specific clients, participating in progress assessment meetings, and assisting clients with their personal care and hygiene needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans as outlined by the BCBA and contribute to the development of these plans based on individual client needs.
- Provide both individual and group instruction in diverse settings, ensuring adherence to ABA principles for consistent care.
- Assist in identifying clients who may benefit from additional support in movement and self-care skills.
- Facilitate activities aimed at enhancing clients' physical abilities, including body awareness and balance.
- Support clients with personal hygiene and self-grooming practices, including eating and toileting.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and implement necessary behavioral modifications.
- Prepare instructional materials and organize workspaces for effective learning experiences.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on ABA methodologies and practices.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of child development and behavior management strategies, particularly for individuals with special needs.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage student behavior and promote positive social interactions.
- Capability to perform clerical tasks and operate various educational tools and office equipment.
Work Environment:
The role is primarily conducted in an indoor office setting with moderate noise levels. The position may require occasional evening or weekend hours. The environment is collaborative, yet certain tasks necessitate independent work.
Physical and Mental Demands:
The job requires physical activity, including lifting and moving equipment, as well as engaging in various physical exercises with clients. Mental acuity is essential for responding to therapeutic and administrative challenges effectively.
