Mid-South Transplant Foundation has been facilitating the organ and tissue donation process between donor families and transplant recipients since 1976. Our mission is to promote awareness through public and professional education, making a significant impact on saving lives.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $74,000 per year, based on experience and education.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Family Donation Coordinator to collaborate with healthcare members in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will provide support to families of potential donors, evaluating and facilitating their understanding of brain death and/or donation after circulatory death (DCD).

The primary objective of this role is to maximize organ donation, provide emotional support to families, and educate them about the donation process. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating an environment where families can openly discuss and consider organ, tissue, and eye donation.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and facilitate family understanding of brain death and/or DCD
  • Provide emotional support to potential donor families
  • Assist with projects aimed at enhancing donation
  • Create an environment for open discussion and consideration of organ, tissue, and eye donation

Requirements

  • Licensed RN or BS degree
  • Two years of work experience in a related field, such as ministry, hospice, or funeral home
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products

Work Schedule

This full-time position requires working 15-16 days per month, which includes some weekends and holidays. Shifts are 12 hours long, rotating between 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am. You will need a reliable vehicle to drive to hospitals within our service area, with mileage reimbursement provided.
