Pet Stylist

Join our team of passionate pet care professionals as a Junior Pet Stylist at Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc. As a key member of our grooming team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional pet care services to our customers.

The Junior Pet Stylist is responsible for learning and performing various grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning. You will work closely with experienced groomers to develop your skills and provide top-notch customer service to pet parents.

• Perform limited grooming services under close supervision of experienced groomers
• Ensure the well-being and safety of every animal in the salon
• Interact professionally and effectively with pet parents, providing optimal customer service and addressing grooming-related inquiries
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area and salon, adhering to Petco's hygiene and sanitation policies
• Schedule grooming appointments, manage paperwork, and maintain accurate grooming records

As a Junior Pet Stylist, you will participate in a comprehensive training program that covers dog behavior, pet and self-safety, customer service, and grooming policies. You will also receive hands-on training in bathing and drying techniques.

• 0-1 year of animal-related experience, including shelter volunteering or pet sitting
• High-school diploma or GED preferred
• Genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

The majority of job duties are conducted indoors in the grooming salon. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for long periods of time. You may be required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, as needed by the Pet Care Center's grooming schedule.
