Responsibilities

Staff RN-Cardiovascular

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting in both the Main OR and Cardiovascular OR. This includes:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
  • Coordinating care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directing and guiding OR Technicians and other personnel.
  • Working with other departments to provide a continuum of care and collaborating with coworkers to provide continuous, quality patient care.
  • Ensuring adherence to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
  • Participating in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
  • Acting as a resource for other personnel as needed.
Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on-the-job training at Saint Mary's.
  • One year previous Cardiovascular OR experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English (speak and write).
  • Current and valid Nevada RN License.
  • BLS (AHA) certification.
  • ACLS (AHA) certification.
