Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage quality assurance processes, including supplier vetting, product commercialization, and specification development.
  • Develop relationships with vendor partners to focus on continuous improvement and timely issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with culinary, operations, and marketing teams to provide specification and formulation information.
  • Champion a culture of food safety by modeling safe practices and ensuring products are safe for consumption.
  • Direct and manage projects within designated timing and budget parameters.
  • Act as a technical resource for new or revised products, ingredients, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Meat Science, Microbiology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6+ years in a supplier quality/food safety focused role, with fast casual restaurant experience preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of food technology, flavoring, and food-related microbiology.
  • Expertise in food manufacturing, processes, and packaging, as well as knowledge of food purchasing, product costing, distribution, and logistics.
  • Strong communication and verbal, written presentation skills.
