Role Purpose

The main responsibility of this position is to prepare and serve nutritious and visually appealing meals in accordance with dietary requirements and center events, while adhering to established standards, guidelines, and policies.

    • Operate various kitchen equipment, including blenders, mixers, fryers, and ovens.
    • Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits for meal preparation.
    • Taste food to ensure quality and palatability.
    • Slice and portion meats for individual servings.
    • Follow recipes accurately.
    • Add sauces, gravies, and garnishes as needed.
    • Assist with the preparation of special event meals.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The ability to read and write is required.

Experience

One to two years of experience as a cook in a large-scale food service operation is preferred.
