Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and facilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with mechanical systems, including piping, plumbing, and HVAC
- Repair and replace parts as needed, including tools and equipment
- Conduct physical job task analysis to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Work at heights and in confined spaces as required
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure seamless operations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of trades experience
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including working at heights and in confined spaces
- Good working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Good record of safety work practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-4 years related work experience
- Experience with steam, condensate, gas, water, and sewer systems
- Experience with gas and diesel engines, and other rolling equipment systems
- Experience with cranes and other lifting equipment
- Experience with blowers, machines, and fixed production tooling and equipment
- Experience with carpentry, construction, and repairs to buildings, finishes, and building envelopes
