Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is a critical role within Avel eCare's Information Technology department, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's network infrastructure. This position requires a strong technical background in network technologies, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing protocols, switching, Wi-Fi, and name resolution protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience in network security, including firewall management, and a strong understanding of server, storage, and compute VDI environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement network infrastructure technologies, including voice, video, and data networks
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network systems, ensuring uptime and availability
  • Collaborate with vendors and other Avel and non-Avel sites to coordinate the installation, configuration, and use of multi-site systems
  • Interact with end-users, vendors, staff, and management at all sites to coordinate the installation, configuration, and use of multi-site systems
  • Implement and maintain systems supported by IT, monitoring their operation and adherence to standards
  • Work with the Director of IT Infrastructure to specify network system topology and design architecture, including standards and documentation development and enforcement
  • Maintain logs and device inventories, as well as appropriate documentation, including application notes, drawings, and configuration information
  • Ensure the highest level of security for data at rest, data in motion, and data being processed, in compliance with state and federal regulations, healthcare industry standards, IT industry standards, and Avel and Avel eCare policies concerning security and data integrity
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline
  • 7 years of related experience and/or training
  • Experience in network technologies, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing protocols, switching, Wi-Fi, and name resolution protocols
  • Experience in network security, including firewall management
  • Experience in server, storage, and compute VDI environments
  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or PCNSA (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator) certification
