IT Specialist

Join the Defense Threat Reduction Agency as an IT Specialist and play a critical role in supporting the Nuclear Enterprise Nuclear Logistics Operations Department.

• Manage and lead a team of Government and Military personnel performing as Database Administrators, system/application developers, and enterprise system architects.
• Design, write, test, debug, and maintain software applications that meet technical and functional requirements.
• Support the maintenance of existing applications software and participate in system analysis, testing, and implementation of new or modified application software.
• Enforce data management and enterprise architecture policies, plans, and procedures and ensure all technical requirements strictly align with DoD, DoE, and DTRA security requirements.

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
• Performing database management for locally developed and other assigned applications.
• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting database systems and database user interfaces.
• Designing, writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications that meet technical and functional requirements.

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
• Designing enterprise databases and enterprise architecture to support applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability.
• Planning and installing upgrades of database management system software to enhance database performance.
• Developing data models for applications, metadata tables, views, and related database structures.

Must obtain and/or hold an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification. Failure to maintain IAT certification may result in the termination of employment.
