Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of global/national/regional safety programs and initiatives, championing a culture of safety and quality.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Recruit, select, and train drivers to meet daily schedule requirements, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in location management, process optimization, and people development.
  • Collaborate with National Operations Center teams to enhance daily Transportation operations.
  • Implement national transport process changes and initiatives, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Manage and motivate office staff and drivers to achieve business targets, including bid management and vacation coverage.
  • Counsel, coach, and discipline employees as needed, addressing performance-related issues and labor relations.
  • Ensure compliance with Messer and regulatory requirements, managing daily hours of service for drivers.
  • Develop and implement Productivity Improvement Projects to enhance Key Productivity Indicators and model High Performance Organization principles.
  • Manage maintenance programs for vehicles, equipment, and customer stations, including planning, inventory management.
  • Monitor and manage costs at a local level, maintaining a cost-effective Transportation operation.
  • Lead Location Administration, including purchase cards, budgeting, customer billing, driver payroll, and on-board recording systems.
  • Manage Transportation-related SAP processes.
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and lead process improvements.
  • Provide support for Transport Managers in respective regions and lead project implementation initiatives for new technology.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
