Role Responsibilities and QualificationsPosition Summary:
The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the nursing care of patients in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization. The Behavioral Health Adult Unit consists of 24 beds (both private and semi-private). The BH Adult RN will provide care for patients facing mental health challenges, including major depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorders, and substance abuse issues. Patients in this unit are adults aged 18 and older. Our facility features Recreational Therapy, a spacious gymnasium, and outdoor areas for therapeutic activities. Psychiatrists and Internal Medicine physicians are available daily to address both medical and psychiatric needs, supported by Social Workers for individual, family, and group therapy.
In this role, you will:- Conduct initial and ongoing physical and psychosocial assessments in accordance with established nursing standards.
- Evaluate and plan patient care needs.
- Implement physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to assist in setting and revising goals, objectives, and interventions tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida, or recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements).
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program is preferred.
- Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Preferred: 1 year of RN experience in a Behavioral Health (Psychiatric) Unit or Facility.
