Janitorial Specialist

The Janitorial Specialist will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within our facilities. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning Duties:
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, and equipment in various areas, including hallways, offices, and restrooms.
- Operate specialized cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners, to maintain specific areas.
- Conduct deep cleaning tasks periodically, including cleaning carpets and upholstery, washing walls, and cleaning ceilings.
- Restroom Maintenance:
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
- Replenish supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
- Report any maintenance issues, such as leaks or broken fixtures, to the supervisor.
- General Upkeep:
- Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks, such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of rooms for events or meetings.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and request additional supplies as needed.
- Ensure that cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Other Duties:
- Respond to urgent cleaning needs, such as spills or accidents.
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience as a janitor, custodian, or in a similar role is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Good physical condition and strength to lift and move heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
