Associate Director, Development, PME

The University of Chicago is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join its Development team, specifically supporting the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME). This key role will focus on securing leadership annual, major, and planned gifts, as well as developing and executing strategies to engage and grow the PME donor base.
Key Responsibilities- Secure leadership annual, major, and planned gifts from individuals and institutions to support PME priorities and objectives.
- Develop and execute strategies to engage and grow the PME donor base, including serving as a frontline gift officer, managing development communications, and coordinating stewardship and donor relations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development, Prospect Management, and Prospect Research to identify and target key gaps in coverage among prospect segments with promising fundraising potential.
- Achieve personal fundraising activity goals monthly, quarterly, and annually, maintaining an active and regular local travel schedule to meet with donors and prospective donors.
- Assist in the planning and execution of strategic events and programs designed to advance relationships with prospects and donors, including the semi-annual PME Advisory Council meetings.
- Cultivate relationships with PME Advisory Council members and develop corresponding solicitation strategies.
- Lead or contribute to development communications, including writing appeal letters and development talking points, briefings, and proposals.
- Develop and implement compelling plans for stewardship and donor relations, seeking new and innovative ways to engage donors and prospective donors.
- A deep understanding of fundraising operations for a school or department of the University.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong links between PME and ARD colleagues to ensure a coordinated approach to multi-interest prospects and donors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with donors, prospects, and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess, analyze, and evaluate fundraising programs and strategies.
