Adjunct Faculty

We are seeking a highly qualified Nursing Instructor to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and evaluating students in the clinical area, sharing in the total responsibility of providing quality instruction for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, teach, and evaluate students in the clinical area, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
- Develop and implement clinical curriculum, including designing, implementing, and evaluating the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of student admissions, progression, retention, and graduation policies within the Commonwealth of Virginia framework.
- Provide opportunities for student and graduate evaluation of curriculum and teaching and program effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance for clinical students and report any student problems or concerns to the lead/core full-time faculty.
- Current VA license or multistate licensure to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice.
- Bachelor Degree in the Field of Nursing; if current staffing would alter the percentage of MSN prepared faculty to less than 50%, a MSN is required.
- Two years of direct client care experience as a registered nurse prior to employment by the program.
- Participation in annual professional development according to Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations.
- AHA BLS CPR certification.
- Ability to follow BON Regulations for Nursing Education Programs 18VAC et seq.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work up to 12 hour shifts if needed.
- Ability to provide immunization history.
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screen as required.
- Previous teaching experience.
The Nursing Instructor will work in a clinical setting, interacting with students, staff, and personnel of clinical agencies. The ability to walk, stand, and lift as needed is required. Exposure to potential communicable diseases is also a consideration.
