We are seeking a highly qualified Biomedical Engineering Lecturer to join our dynamic department at San Jose State University. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our Biomedical Engineering program, which is designed to provide students with a unique blend of academic and practical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver high-quality course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, and assignments.
- Teach and mentor students in our Biomedical Engineering program, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback to students, as well as contribute to the development of our program's curriculum.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Stay current with developments in the field of Biomedical Engineering and incorporate relevant research and best practices into your teaching and mentoring.
- Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Expertise in biomedical electronics, bioinstrumentation, biomedical and clinical imaging, biomechanics, biomaterials, biomedical device design and/or manufacturing, or other areas closely related to biomedical engineering.
- Ability to teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Several years of experience in teaching and mentoring students in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
