Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist PRN to join our team at HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital. As a Therapist, you will play a vital role in assisting patients in regaining or developing their highest functional level, considering their impairments.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients and provide personalized therapeutic recreational programs to restore, remediate, or rehabilitate their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience.
  • Document patient activities and progress, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, and modify it as necessary to improve treatment outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Activities Therapy.
  • One year of experience working in therapeutic recreation programs preferred.
  • Current CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist), MT-BS (Music Therapist Board Certified), ATR-BC (Art Therapist Board Certified), or BC-DMT (Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist).
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA (American Heart Association).
  • Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required within 60 days of hire in Behavioral Health Unit.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills.
