Role Summary: The Respiratory Care Practitioner II plays a crucial role in delivering respiratory services through comprehensive patient assessment, strategic planning, and effective intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer a range of respiratory care procedures, including oxygen delivery, aerosolized medication administration, and ventilator management.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapies and adjust treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
  • Oversee the respiratory care team during shifts, ensuring adequate staffing and effective patient coverage.
  • Assist physicians in various procedures, including bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care.
  • Conduct therapeutic procedures to maintain patient airways and ensure optimal respiratory function.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and home care practices.
  • Perform arterial blood gas analysis and maintain respiratory therapy equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Current state Respiratory Care License.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed.
  • Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) credentials.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in respiratory therapy, with exposure to critical care environments.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret clinical data.
  • Knowledge of non-invasive respiratory therapy equipment.

Training:

  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
