As a Universal Caregiver, you will work closely with a dedicated team to foster an environment that promotes resident engagement and personal development. Under the guidance of a registered nurse, your primary duties will encompass delivering outstanding care in a supportive setting, enhancing the dining experience, and collaboratively developing programs that reflect the daily lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere that emphasizes personalized care and emotional support.
- Review and discuss the resident's care plan with the supervising nurse to ensure clarity and understanding of new assignments.
- Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing, while monitoring any changes in their condition.
- Facilitate safe mobility for residents using assistive devices, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation for care provided and assist with necessary billing records.
- Support residents during meal times, including food preparation, serving, and menu selection.
- Perform essential household tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and ensuring a tidy living environment.
- Prepare residents for appointments and provide transportation assistance as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and report any potential hazards to the supervising nurse.
- Respond promptly to requests for assistance from residents.
- Complete required training programs, including specialized education in dementia care.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant in the relevant state is required.
- Eligibility for Certified Nursing Assistant registration is necessary.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems is advantageous.
- ServSafe handler certification is required.
Work Schedule
This position requires a commitment of 16 hours per week during night shifts.
Compensation
The hourly wage is competitive, with additional shift differentials for night shifts.
