Position Summary: The Breakfast Baker for the AM shift is essential to our kitchen operations, responsible for crafting high-quality pastry items that meet Hyatt's pastry shop standards. This early morning role is perfect for a detail-oriented and passionate baker who enjoys the tranquility of the morning hours to produce exceptional baked goods that please our guests.
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a diverse range of breakfast pastries, breads, and other baked items for various dining options, adhering to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all baked products are ready and presented promptly to align with breakfast service schedules.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, complying with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Work collaboratively with fellow kitchen staff to facilitate a seamless breakfast service.
- Assist senior bakers and the Pastry Chef in the preparation and design of all pastry offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels and aid in the ordering and receipt of bakery supplies.
- Follow hygiene and cleanliness protocols, keeping the workstation immaculate at all times.
- Report directly to the Pastry Chef, contributing to the implementation of new recipes and menu items.
- Manage the unique pace of morning operations, ensuring timely delivery of all baked goods.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing guest needs and special requests.
- Demonstrated baking experience, especially in a high-volume, fine dining setting.
- Familiarity with professional kitchen tools, including mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent time management abilities, with the capacity to start early morning shifts.
- Willingness to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior experience as a baker or in a similar capacity within a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
- Solid understanding of baking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to accurately follow recipes and instructions.
- Culinary arts degree or certification in baking and pastry-making is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
