About Us

Platinum Medical Staffing is a professional organization seeking a certified surgical assistant with 2 or more years of Orthopedic Experience in the operating room.

Job Summary

The Surgical Assistant will be responsible for assisting in operations, under the supervision of surgeons. Key responsibilities include verifying patient identity, maintaining aseptic technique, and coordinating patient positioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identity and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures
  • Coordinate patient positioning and maintain an unobstructed operative field
  • Prepare and apply sterile wound dressings and discuss surgical procedures with the surgeon
  • Determine availability of necessary equipment and supplies for operative procedures
  • Assist with patient resuscitation during cardiac arrest or other life-threatening events
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in an ambulatory or surgical setting
  • Possess an ability to function in a high stress, physically demanding setting
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA confidentiality, infection spread, etc.)
  • Exemplary customer service experience including client relationships and job knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Compensation: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
