We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutritionist II to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a key member of our Public Health Division, you will play a critical role in promoting healthy eating habits and providing nutrition education to our community.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and document participants' nutrition risks and prescribe food packages accordingly.
- Provide one-on-one and group nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support, to participants.
- Refer participants to other health and social services and provide follow-up to referrals.
- Document nutrition services provided, including referrals and follow-up.
- Maintain effective and efficient Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program operations in the Region.
- Bachelor's degree in a social, community, health, education, or nutritional field.
- Two years of experience in nutrition services, including direct client services and program management.
- Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
This position is performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Extended periods of driving and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and moderate office noise, heat, cold, and smells.
