Make a Real Impact in Hospice Care

Are you a compassionate and dedicated nursing professional seeking a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families? Interim HealthCare Hospice is seeking a skilled PRN Weekend Hospice RN to provide weekend support starting Friday at 5:30pm till Monday at 8:30am.

In this role, you will be the face of courage and the strong arms of support for patients and their families, providing comfort and closure during this significant season of life. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with a physician, LPN, CNA, HHA, social worker, chaplain, and volunteers to carry out the patient's plan of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hospice patient care after-hours and weekends, as needs arise for our patients
  • Enable patients to spend quality time with loved ones and participate in meaningful activities
  • Perform patient assessments, check vitals, evaluate breathing, monitor pain, administer prescribed medication and treatments
  • Ensure accessibility of medical equipment, prescribed oxygen, medication, and other supplies
  • Educate family on the patient's prognosis, changes in care plan, medication, and hospice goals
  • Take a holistic approach to care that engages the patient's mind, body, spirit, and family
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • CPR certification
  • Valid car insurance
  • Prior Hospice experience 3+ years
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of Hospice nursing care
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
