At General Engineering Co Va, we are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing machine parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans.
- Program mills and lathes by entering instructions and calculating requirements.
- Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting tools and attachments.
- Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verify settings by measuring positions and sample work pieces.
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of manual machining experience.
- Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions:
- The work environment is in a manufacturing facility where noise level is usually moderate.
- Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
- Requires the use of hands for simple handling, grasping, and fine manipulations.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
