CNC Machinist Position

At General Engineering Co Va, we are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing machine parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans.
• Program mills and lathes by entering instructions and calculating requirements.
• Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting tools and attachments.
• Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
• Verify settings by measuring positions and sample work pieces.
• Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of manual machining experience.
• Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions:

• The work environment is in a manufacturing facility where noise level is usually moderate.
• Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
• Requires the use of hands for simple handling, grasping, and fine manipulations.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
