Job Summary

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Leesburg, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services according to radiology practice standards and act as a resource to radiography students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.
  • Administer sound patient care practice according to hospital and department policies/procedures to ensure the safety of patients.
  • Demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
  • Complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations while demonstrating the initiative for self-development to ensure the proficiency of staff with new technological changes.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of radiologic principles, theory, anatomy, and pathology processes by utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
  • Adhere to department policies and protocols by ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
  • Confidently operate radiological equipment in all care settings (i.e. fluoroscopy, trauma, Emergency department, and the Operating Room).
  • Demonstrate the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding.
  • Operate Imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Demonstrate proper technique for injection of IV contrast under the American College of Radiology guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology school or program.
  • One year of combined classroom and clinical training in radiology.
  • Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a Radiologic Technologist or student.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • American Registered Radiologic Technologists within 12 months of hire.
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist Upon Start Must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an Inova Health System free-standing Imaging Center not affiliated with an Inova hospital.
