Position Overview
The Breast Imaging Specialist I is responsible for administering ionizing radiation while conducting screening and diagnostic mammograms in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and relevant medical terminology related to mammography procedures.
- Maintains exceptional accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and evaluation of imaging parameters to enhance patient imaging and care, while strictly adhering to radiation protection and safety standards.
- Integrates technical expertise with patient interaction and care to acquire essential diagnostic information as directed by the physician.
- Utilizes independent professional judgment and critical thinking to gather diagnostic information, consulting with a qualified interpreting physician or institutional policies when necessary.
- Remains attuned to the physical, cultural, and emotional needs of patients through effective communication, assessment, monitoring, and care skills in a respectful and non-discriminatory manner.

Quality Improvement
The Breast Imaging Specialist I actively participates in quality improvement initiatives and consistently evaluates their professional performance.

Regulatory Knowledge
Possesses a thorough understanding of applicable state and federal regulations, along with knowledge of quality control and assurance requirements for mammography.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Completion of a Post High School Diploma Program.
- Relevant experience in the field is preferred.

Certification and Licensure
- BLS Certification - RT (R) or RT (R) (M).
