Job Title: Lead Child Development Specialist

Champions for Children, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Child Development Specialist to join our team. This is a supervisory level position that requires expertise in early childhood education and effective parent engagement strategies.

Job Summary:

The Lead Child Development Specialist will promote and provide daily oversight and support of the EMPOWER program. This includes planning, conducting, and facilitating educational groups, managing the ASQ database system, and cultivating collaborative relationships with early childhood and family-serving agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and conduct educational groups and activities for families with young children.
  2. Manage the ASQ database system and provide oversight and support for ASQs conducted.
  3. Cultivate and manage collaborative relationships with early childhood and family-serving agencies.
  4. Direct supervision, support, and training of assigned staff, volunteers, and interns.
  5. Plan and participate in outreach and special educational projects to benefit parents and families.
  6. Develop outreach materials and maintain a dynamic social media presence.
  7. Coordinate with NFC staff on facility maintenance and preservation.
  8. Complete accurate and timely data collection and reporting.
  9. Assist in engaging families to services and support the agency's performance and quality improvement processes.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum bachelor's degree in child development, social work, early childhood, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' experience working with families with young children.
  3. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  4. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  5. Professional, self-directed, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  8. Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, kneel, bend, reach, and manipulate objects.
  9. Routine travel to two other locations in Pinellas County is required.
  10. Must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the population served.
  11. Must have a reliable vehicle, active auto insurance, and a valid Florida driver's license.
  12. Must successfully complete a Florida level 2 criminal background clearance, motor vehicle records check, and drug screening.
