Role and Responsibilities

We're seeking a highly skilled Sub-Section Manager for Advanced Mechanical Systems to lead our team of mechanical design engineers. In this role, you'll be responsible for advancing the state-of-the-art in bearings, seals, drives, and associated subsystems for our RISE technology programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the mechanical design of aircraft engine mechanical systems using sound engineering principles.
  • Manage a small- to medium-sized team of design engineers, influencing the development of strategy in mechanical systems design and technology.
  • Exercise high-level judgement to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in mechanical systems.
  • Communicate difficult concepts and influence others' options on particular topics.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical design, including prior experience leading an engineering team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
