Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to construction sites to conduct maintenance and repair tasks on heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, and other essential construction equipment.
- Perform skilled activities including inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of heavy construction machinery and trucks.
- Execute welding tasks for equipment repairs.
- Operate cranes for maintenance and repair purposes.
- Accurately complete service-related documentation and paperwork in a timely manner.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure equipment reliability.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work vehicle and job site as required.
- Utilize knowledge of the construction sector effectively.
- Interpret specifications and manuals accurately.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on equipment.
- Employ hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, supervisors, and equipment operators.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years' experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items weighing up to seventy pounds.
- Possession of personal hand tools is required.
- Capability to engage in physically demanding work.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A valid driver's license is necessary for occasional travel.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to navigate minor obstacles at construction sites.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
