Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in assisting surgeons and medical staff during surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring proper equipment handling.
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, supplies, and instruments, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless execution of procedures, maintaining open communication and a positive attitude.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
• Contribute to a safe and respectful work environment, adhering to Ochsner Clinic Foundation's values and standards.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program.
• 5 years of Surgical Technologist experience or equivalent.
• Associate degree or Certificate Program with onsite clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting.
• Basic analytical experience.
• Certification in Surgical Technology.

Physical and Environmental Demands

This role requires the ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds, as well as stand for extended periods. The incumbent will work in a fast-paced environment, exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue, and may be required to wear personal protective equipment.
